Steel Pier Classic and Surf Art Expo -

Not only is it the largest longboard surfing competition on the East Coast, but it's a weekend full of surf celebrations. Nose riding, retro-surfing, tandem, stand up paddling boarding and more. Plus, the Art Expo features tons of artwork that embraces the art of surfing in every form.

30th Annual Pungo Strawberry Festival -

All the strawberries you can eat prepared in over 50 different ways is the festival highlight, but activities will also include a pie-eating contest, several racing car exhibits, one of the largest carnivals on the East Coast, continuous entertainment on four stages, a parade, livestock sale and show, a military display, pig races, youth art show and some of the most unique arts & crafts exhibited on the east coast.

Family Great Adventure Series -

The Family Adventure Series is all about discovery...interactive adventures leads kids and family all across the Virginia Beach Boardwalk and Atlantic Avenue to unravel the clues to a mystery. During their adventure, participants can dress up as characters, use "brain and brawn" to win the contest at hand and then sit back in the sand for a movie shown oceanfront on a giant inflatable screen. All events are free and take place select Thursdays and Fridays throughout the summer.

Patriotic Festival - A Celebration of our Military -

This three day music event is a salute to our troups, honoring the men and women of the U.S. military for their heroism and sacrifices. The USO Patriotic Festival features three free concerts Friday - Sunday. Scheduled to perform this year is Kirby Chambliss and the Red Bull Air Force Sky Divers, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, Steel Pulse and more.

20th Annual North American Sand Soccer Championships -

The NASSC is the world's largest beach soccer festival with over 8,500 youth and adult players of all skill levels. The event includes nearly 60 surfside fields located over a mile and a quarter of the premier resort strip beach.

Symphony by the Sea Series -

Beachfront pops will fill the air at three magical evenings by the sea...the first of which features the Virginia Symphony Orchestra on July 11 and beautiful evenings continue throughout the month of July. All events are free and open to the public. A limited number of Prefered VIP Tickets are available for purchase. Other events are July 25 and August 7.

Chalk the walk ARTsplosion -

Artists and "wanna-be" artists are invited to the 6th Annual Chalk the Walk Artsplosion, where participants are encouraged to decorate the Virginia Beach Boardwalk with 4 x 4 foot chalk drawings. Age and skill divisions divide artists into appropriate groups for competition purposes.

Mid-Atlantic Hermit Crab Challenge -

The Crab is King at this one-of-a-kind event that is fun for the entire family! The day begins with judging for the Miss Curvaceous Crustacean Beauty Pageant, where hermit crabs are presented in their own unique decorated displays judged on creativity and flair.

51st Annual East Coast Surfing Championships -

|
ECSC is North America's Oldest Running Surfing Competition and the second oldest continuously-run surfing contest in the world. More than 100 of the world's top professional surfers, male and female, and an estimated 300 amateur surfers will travel to Virginia Beach to "ride the curl" at the Oceanfront and compete for combined cash prizes of $40,000.
